I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a certificate of tax-free allowances for the current year, 1983-84, was issued to the taxpayer on 19 December 1983. Any tax overdeducted from the taxpayer's earnings since the date of commencement of employment is refundable by the employer on operation of the certificate.
