Vol. 398 No. 1

Written Answers. - Non-Catholic Gardaí.

Dick Spring

Question:

148 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Justice the number, by rank, of non-Catholics in the Garda Síochána.

The information sought is not available and were it to be compiled, the diversion of staff from other more pressing duties, for an inordinate amount of time, would be necessary. Religious affiliation is not an issue in considering applicants for recruitment to the Garda Síochána or for promotion.
