Vol. 398 No. 1

Written Answers. - Balbriggan (Dublin) School.

Seán Ryan

Question:

229 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Education if the proposed palisade fencing will be erected as a matter of urgency at St. Teresa's national school, Balbriggan, County Dublin, given the need for extra security at this school; and if she will give a timescale for this work.

I accept that security measures at St. Teresa's national school, Balbriggan, are necessary. The school authorities have applied to my Department for grant aid for the provision of palisade fencing. My Department have under consideration the local architect's recommendation on the tenders received for the works and a decision will be conveyed to the school authorities at an early date.

I am not in a position, at this point, to say exactly when the works will commence.
