Vol. 398 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dublin Marrow Transplant Centre.

Eric J. Byrne

Question:

33 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Health if it is intended to provide any additional funds or resources for the Marrow Transplant Centre in St. James's Hospital, Dublin 8; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The 1990 notified non capital allocation to St. James's Hospital is £41.8 million. It is a matter for the hospital board to decide on the amount of resources to be allocated to each specialty within the context of their overall budget.

This matter will be discussed with the hospital authorities at a forthcoming meeting which is to examine the hospital's service and budgeting arrangements for 1990.
