Séamus Pattison

Question:

68 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for Health if he has received any data regarding the number of residential, day care and training places required for people with a mental handicap in the South Eastern Health Board area; the shortfall in such places; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 39, 40 and 68 together. I have asked health boards to prepare multi-annual plans which would quantify any shortfall in current service provision. I have not yet received the plans in respect of the three health boards in question.

The Deputies will appreciate that there has been significant development in this area over the last three years.
