Seán Ryan

Question:

71 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Health the medium and long term plans which he has for St. Ita's Hospital, Portrane, County Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The management and organisation of services at St. Ita's Hospital, Portrane, are the responsibility of the Eastern Health Board. The board's plan for St. Ita's Hospital involves the development, on a phased basis, of community based services to cater for the specific needs of psychiatric, mentally handicapped and elderly patients who are currently cared for in the hospital.
