Vol. 398 No. 1

Written Answers. - Re-engagement of Former State Employees.

Peter Barry

Question:

127 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, since 1989, any former State employees have been engaged, either permanently or on contract, by his Department; and if so, if he will give (i) their names, (ii) the terms of their employment or contract (iii) the salary being paid to them and (iv) the pension, if any, payable to them from the State.

It is not considered that the question extends to persons appointed as chairmen or members of boards or committees operating under my Department's aegis.

A former State employee has been engaged at an appropriate per diem rate to assist the Registrar of Friendly Societies with the amalgamation and transfer of engagements of certain trade unions. The person involved is currently in receipt of a pension of £14,735 per annum.
