Vol. 404 No. 1

Written Answers. - Funds for Consumers' Association.

Seán Barrett

Question:

111 Mr. S. Barrett asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the plans he has to provide adequate funding in 1991 to assist the Consumers' Association of Ireland in carrying out their valuable work on behalf of Irish consumers; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have received recently a preliminary application for funding for 1991 from the Consumers' Association of Ireland. A detailed submission in support of the application is awaited.

I should add that the association benefited substantially from both State and EC Commission funding in 1990.
