Question:

84 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Justice the number of gardaí stationed for duties at the Garda Stations in Clontarf, Raheny, Coolock, Santry, Whitehall and Fitzgibbon Street in Dublin for the year 1992; and if there have been requests from these stations for additional gardaí.

The particulars sought in the question are detailed in the following table:

The question of assigning additional gardaí to these stations or to any Garda station is a matter for Garda management who are responsible for the allocation of staffing resources and who make their decisions on the basis of their best professional judgment as to the requirements of particular areas from time to time. The views of local Garda management are taken into account in that regard.
