The programmes of study available are shown in the following schedule. The importance of distance education programmes in making courses available to those who cannot attend conventional courses cannot be stressed too strongly. I fully support the extension and broadening of these programmes and it was with great pleasure, therefore, that I responded to the request to launch the new B.A. Degree in Humanities on Friday 28 May.
