Vol. 432 No. 7

Written Answers. - Carrickmines (Dublin) Sewer.

Helen Keogh

Question:

17 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make available the necessary funding for the Carrickmines Valley Sewer, County Dublin immediately as the present system is inadequate.

As this scheme is primarily designed to cater for domestic development, it would be unlikely to qualify for EC co-financing. My Department has been in consultation with Dublin County Council about the financing of the proposal and a further submission is now awaited from the council. Given the existing level of commitments on the water and sanitary services programme, I cannot indicate at this stage when a decision may be made on this scheme.
