Vol. 433 No. 1
119 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Finance the number of officials who are employed to investigate tax fraud; and the average additional revenue they realised for the tax year 1992/1993.
In the Office of the Chief Inspector of Taxes, there has been a planned development in the administration of the tax system which has resulted in a broad movement of staff from routine administration to compliance, audit and investigation work.
The number of officers directly engaged in taxation audits and other antievasion measures will increase from 400 at the end of 1992 to approximately 600 in the course of 1993.
