Vol. 438 No. 4

Written Answers. - Ballymun (Dublin) Remedial Works Scheme.

Proinsias De Rossa

Question:

147 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for the Environment when approval will be given for £0.26 million as requested by Dublin Corporation under the remedial works scheme so that refurbishment work can be carried out on the wooden-fronted houses in Ballymun, Dublin 11.

Dublin Corporation has sought funding under the remedial works scheme in respect of 17 of its housing estates, including this project. The ten estates to which the corporation gave the highest priority have been designated for funding under the scheme. The priority given by the corporation to these houses has not allowed for their designation to date. The allocations for the remedial works scheme in 1994 are under consideration and they will be notified to local authorities as soon as possible.
