Question:

191 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health if a new chief executive officer is to be appointed to the South-Eastern Health Board; when this appointment will be made; and when the position will be taken up.

There is no vacancy at present for a chief executive officer in the South Eastern Health Board. I have made a temporary appointment to this post in accordance with section 13 (9) of the Health Act, 1970. This appointment is scheduled to expire no later than 31 December, 1994.
