124 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the steps, if any, he intends to take to ensure that there is full participation by nongovernmental organisations and by the Government at the forthcoming UN Women's World Conference in Beijing; and the finances that are available to ensure the full participation by Irish nongovernmental organisations at this conference.

Ireland will take a full part in the World Conference on Women. I support participation by non-governmental organisations in the Conference, but, as the Deputy will appreciate, departmental allocations for 1995 have yet to be finalised.
