Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: Deputy Crowley — the consequences of the decision to downgrade 15 rural post officers in the Cork north-west constituency; Deputy Frances Fitzgerald — the proposed closure of Madonna House Residential Home for Children; and the implications for residential childcare services in this country; Deputy Durkan — the delay in concluding investigations in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who has received no unemployment assistance for 12 months despite having supplied all the necessary information; Deputy Gilmore — the arrangements recently agreed between the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, the Irish Master Butchers' Federation and the pork slaughtering industry concerning the payment of premia to pig producers.

The matters raised by the following Deputies are considered to be in order and have been selected for discussion accordingly: Deputies Durkan, Gilmore and Frances Fitzgerald.
