Vol. 444 No. 6

Written Answers. - Departmental Professional Staff Statistics.

Austin Deasy

Question:

176 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the number of archaeologists, architectural historians and ecologists employed in his Department; and the average costs to each of these posts, including expenses.

Apart from such professional staff employed in the institutions under my Department, there are as of yet none employed in my Department. However, I do expect to appoint shortly an archaeologist, an architectural historian and an ecologist to the heritage policy unit of my Department at an average annual cost of some £33,000 for each post, including travelling and other expenses.
