117 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for the Environment the current position regarding the proposed extension of the Ballyjamesduff regional water supply scheme, County Cavan, to Mountnugent; when it is expected that tenders will be sought in respect of this project; when it is likely construction work will commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Ballyjamesduff regional water supply scheme, including the extension to Mountnugent, has been approved for Cohesion Fund assistance, The main scheme is now under construction. Contract documents for the Mountnugent extension are being technically examined in my Department at present so that it may proceed to tender stage as soon as possible.
