Vol. 466 No. 4

Written Answers. - Rathfarnham (Dublin) District Court.

Ben Briscoe

Question:

212 Mr. Briscoe asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, she has to renovate and improve the District Courthouse at Rathfarnham, Dublin 14; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11396/96]

District Court sittings in Rathfarnham are held in rented accommodation. As this building is in poor condition, the various options for the provisions of alternative suitable court facilities have been considered and in October 1995. I approved the construction of a new purpose-built courthouse in Tallaght. Tenders will be sought shortly for this project and the construction work will commence later this year.
