97 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for Health the top ten amounts received by individual general practitioners under the indicative drug prescribing scheme in each year since its inception; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14216/96]

Limerick East): The information requested by the Deputy in relation to amounts paid to general practitioners participating in the GMS scheme from their proportion of the indicative drug target scheme savings in respect of the years 1993, 1994 and 1995 is as follows:

I should point out that the average amount paid to general practitioners from their proportion of the savings made under this scheme are for practice development and are subject to the approval of the relevant health board.
