Vol. 469 No. 1

Written Answers. - Car Thefts.

Tony Gregory

Question:

500 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice the measures, if any, the Garda are taking to deal with the problem of stolen cars from an area (details supplied) in Dublin 10, which is a daily and nightly event, and to move on the gangs of youths congregating at this location where residents are living in fear. [16556/96]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that special measures have been in operation for some time in order to deal with criminal and anti-social activity in the area. I do not believe it to be in the public interest to disclose these measures at this stage.
