Question:60 Mr. Callely asked the Taoiseach the total cost of non-civil servants and other staff costs attached to his office for each of the years 1980, 1988, 1990, 1995 and 1996; and the estimated cost for 1997. [8050/97]

The costs of non-Civil Service staff for the years 1980 and 1990 are not readily available. It would not be possible to provide the required information in the time available. However, the salaries related to all such appointments made in both those years were set in accordance with Department of Finance regulations.
