Vol. 479 No. 1

Written Answers. - Alcohol Treatment Services.

Seamus Brennan

Question:

26 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Health if he will act urgently to absorb the Stanhope Alcohol Treatment centre (details supplied) in Dublin 7 into the Eastern Health Board without delay, or pay adequate grant aid to sufficiently cover staff salaries and pensions in view of the valuable work being undertaken by the centre and the financial crisis which has arisen. [12376/97]

Limerick East): I presume the Deputy is referring to the current financial position of the Stanhope Centre.

I understand that the Eastern Health Board has now agreed with the Stanhope Centre the amount of grant-aid necessary to enable the centre to maintain its services in 1997.
