Vol. 526 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Staffing.

Jack Wall

Question:

415 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Education and Science when a school (details supplied) in County Kildare will be granted a special assistant to ensure that a child who suffers from ADHD will be able to obtain mainstream education other than the one hour per day she is receiving at present; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27710/00]

My Department's inspectorate is currently investigating the special educational needs of the child in question.

I understand that a psychological assessment is due to be carried out on this child during the course of this week. Once this assessment report has been received, my Department will arrange to make any necessary supports available.
