Vol. 527 No. 2

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Paul McGrath

Question:

145 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if, in relation to a proposed new school (details supplied) in County Westmeath a new site has yet been identified; if this site has been purchased; the stages thereafter for the designing, planning and construction of this school; and the expected date when the school will be occupied. [28034/00]

The question of site purchase is being dealt with by the school authorities. Architectural planning for the provision of a new school is proceeding as quickly as possible having regard to the large number of school building projects on hand within my Department. It is not possible to say at this point when construction will commence, however, the school authorities will be kept informed of developments.

Donal Carey

Question:

148 Mr. D. Carey asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in proceeding with stages four and five of the extension to St. Anne's Community College, Killaloe, County Clare; and if there are any difficulties in this case. [28092/00]

A partial stage 4-5 submission for the proposed extension at St. Anne's community college has been received in my Department. A full submission is required to make a decision on proceeding to tender. When the complete submission is received it will be examined in the building unit of my Department and a decision will be conveyed subsequently to the school authorities.
