Vol. 533 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Willie Penrose

Question:

352 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science the current stage of an application for additional accommodation from a school (details supplied) in County Westmeath in view of the fact that this accommodation is urgently required due to anticipated increased numbers and the current sub-standard accommodation at this school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9026/01]

My Department has received an application from the management authorities of the school referred to by the Deputy for grant-aid towards additional accommodation.

However, in view of the large number of school building projects being dealt with by my Department at present and the priority to be afforded to such projects, it is not possible at this point to give any indication as to when the application will be processed.

The school authorities will be informed as soon as my Department is in a position to process the case.

Questions Nos. 353 and 354 answered with Question No. 317.
