Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Social Welfare Provision.

Seán Ryan

Question:

452 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if he will provide a social welfare office in Swords, County Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11849/01]

The provision of a social welfare office in Swords has been under consideration for some time. Officials of my Department are currently consulting the Fingal County Development Board and local community and statutory bodies on the future provision of services to the residents of the Swords and North County Dublin area. The issue of a premises to accommodate these services is among the matters being discussed. It is hoped that in due course the Department will be in position to participate in a suitable integrated services initiative in the area.
