Vol. 541 No. 4

Written Answers. - Medical Register.

Dick Spring

Question:

316 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry has been refused permanent registration. [23078/01]

I cannot comment on individual cases. The processing of applications for the registration of doctors in Ireland is the function of the Medical Council. The Medical Council needs to be satisfied that the criteria for registration have been met before doctors are allowed to practise in Ireland.

I have asked the Medical Council to examine this particular case and to reply directly to the Deputy on the matter.
