382 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of cases which the State Pathologist and the Deputy State Pathologist have handled in 1999, 2000, and to date in 2001; the number of case calls the State Pathologist handled in 1997 and 1998; and if he will make a statement on the matter. 383 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the decision which was reached regarding the provision of new accommodation for the State Pathologist and Deputy State Pathologist; when such accommodation will be available; the extent of the plans which have been drawn up for this new accommodation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can inform the Deputy that discussions between my Department and Dublin Corporation in relation to the provision of modern office and laboratory facilities for the State Pathology Service, in conjunction with the Dublin City Coroner's office, are at an advanced stage. I understand that Dublin Corporation, which is overseeing the project, has arranged for the preparation of detailed drawings of the proposed accommodation. It is expected that the project will take approximately two years to complete. In the meantime, my Department is considering alternative accommodation arrangements for the State Pathology Service.
