Vol. 542 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospitals Building Programme.

Bernard Allen

Question:

319 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding the re-development of St. Mary's Orthopaedic Hospital, Garranabraher, Cork; and the communications he has received from the Southern Health Board on the matter. [23980/01]

I gave approval in December 2000 for the establishment of a project team to plan and oversee a major development of facilities and services at St. Mary's Orthopaedic Hospital, Cork. Substantial preparatory work has been completed by the project team. It is now engaged in the process of drafting statements of need and scope for each of the proposed component services to be included in the development.
