Question:

500 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Education and Science the most recent figures for pupil-teacher ratio and for average class size in primary schools; the way in which these figures compare with those for other countries in the European Union; the improvements introduced in the staffing schedule in each year since 1996 which have reduced class sizes in schools; the number and proportion of pupils in classes of 30 or over from the most recent figures available; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
