Vol. 549 No. 3

Written Answers. - On-Farm Market Valuation Scheme.

Dan Neville

Question:

144 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person is not entitled to receive a refund of the statutory reduction made by the factory for veterinary inspection fees, bovine disease levies and Bord Bia levy; his views on the understanding of the farming organisations that there is no limitation on this refund; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6513/02]

In accordance with the agreement reached with the farming organisations in this matter, the statutory deductions made by the meat factory are refundable by my Department in all cases to eligible farmers who opt to have their reactors valued under the on-farm market valuation scheme.
