Vol. 556 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospitals Building Programme.

Phil Hogan

Question:

102 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Health and Children if finance will be made available for the approval of the construction of a new accident and emergency department at St. Luke's Hospital Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19625/02]

The prioritisation and delivery of health capital developments at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny is, in the first instance, a matter for the South Eastern Health Board under the national development plan. The board has established a project team which is at present preparing briefs for future developments at the hospital. The provision of funding will be examined in the context of capital priorities and general capital funding available.
