Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - Anti-Coagulation Therapy.

John Gormley

Question:

949 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on self-testing for patients on anti-coagulation therapy; if he intends to make self-test strips available on prescription under the GMS; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20578/03]

Officials from my Department have met with representatives of the self-help group known as Anti-Coagulation Europe to discuss a system of self-testing for patients on anti-coagulation therapy. My Department has sought expert advice and when this has been received the matter will be considered further.
