129 Mr. McHugh asked the Minister for Education and Science if the large scale building project will be allowed to proceed at Kilcooley national school, Loughrea, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27913/03]

The proposed large scale building project for Kilcooley national school is listed in section 7 of the 2003 school building programme which is published on my Department's website at www.education.ie This proposed project is at stage 3, developed sketch scheme, of architectural planning. It has been assigned a band 3 rating by my Department in accordance with the published criteria for prioritising large scale projects.

I intend to publish details of the 2004 school building programme by early January at the latest. The programme will clarify what progress is planned for projects, such as Kilcooley national school, during 2004.

130 Mr. Costello asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the conditions in Ballyboughal national school; his plans to remedy the situation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27930/03]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that my Department recently sanctioned grant aid of €117,659.59 for the provision of two temporary classrooms at Ballyboughal national school.

A large scale building project for Ballyboughal national school is listed in section 6 of the 2003 school building programme, which is published on my Department's website at www.education.ie This project is at stage 4-5, pre-tender documents, of architectural planning. It has been assigned a band 3 rating by my Department in accordance with the published criteria for prioritising large scale projects.

I intend to publish details of the 2004 school building programme by early January at the latest. The programme will clarify what progress is planned for projects, such as Ballyboughal national school, during 2004.
