Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 19 Mar 1959

Vol. 50 No. 17

Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator Quinlan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House to-night, he proposes to raise the following matter:—

That the Government take steps to ensure that copies of the Dáil and Seanad debates on the Third Amendment of the Constitution Bill be made available to the public at all post offices and in all public libraries.

I am accepting that notice and the matter will be taken from 9.30 p.m. to 10 p.m., or earlier, if the business for the day concludes.

Did I understand you, Sir, to say that we are taking the motion from 9.30 to 10 o'clock?

Or earlier, if the business for the day concludes.

If the debate on the Central Fund Bill has not concluded by 9 o'clock, will we have to postpone it for the purpose of taking this matter?

I think we should finish all stages of the Central Fund Bill before taking the motion on the Adjournment.

We can sit late, if Senator Quinlan agrees.

I am perfectly agreeable.
