Death of Former Member. - Request Under Standing Order 29.

I am satisfied, after discussions with you in your office, that this would be a matter contemplated by the section. Having teased this out, I am satisfied that this would be the case. I think it would be useful if these regulations were subject to examination by you and the Committee on Procedure and Privileges. I have also received undertakings that there will be an opportunity in this House to make statements tomorrow. In the circumstances and because of the sensitivity of the matter and the feelings of Members generally, I am happy to withdraw this request under Standing Order 29.

On the basis of what the Senator has said, I regard the motion as having been withdrawn.
