Vol. 294 No. 5

Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Marie Sherlock - The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to make a statement on the exclusion of certain homes built prior to 1940 from home energy improvement grants.

Senator Fiona O'Loughlin - The need for the Minister for Justice to make a statement on the unexpected closure of the immigrant investor programme and its implications for the applications on hand at the time of closure.

Senator Emer Currie - The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works to make a statement on the installation of toilet facilities, including disabled toilets and changing facilities, in areas with no water supply in the Phoenix Park.

Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to provide an update on the work of the technical review group established to consider the future structure of the television licence fee.

Senator Erin McGreehan - The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to make a statement on the provision of funding to support inclusive and accessible tourism.

Senator Regina Doherty - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to address the matter of land-to-sea access at Skerries Harbour in advance of the 2023 sailing season.

Senator Lynn Boylan - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to amend the Animal Health and Welfare Act to provide that horses seized on welfare grounds can be rehomed.

Of the matters raised by the Senators that are suitable for discussion, I have selected those raised by Senators Marie Sherlock, Fiona O'Loughlin, Emer Currie and Malcolm Byrne and they will be taken now. I regret that I had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Regina Doherty on the ground that the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
