Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Robbie Gallagher - The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to make a statement on the capital funding proposed for St. Tiarnach's Park, Clones, County Monaghan.

Senator Fintan Warfield - The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on the expected timeline for the receipt, and publishing, of the Low Pay Commission report on youth rates of the minimum wage.

Senator John Cummins - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the steps taken to establish a specialised and location-specific warning system for extreme weather events, in light of recent flooding in Waterford and Cork.

Senator Paul Daly - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make immediate provisional arrangements to allow farmers whose slurry storage facilities were flooded during Storm Babet to empty these tanks outside of the now closed slurry spreading period.

Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to provide an update on proposals to improve conditions for retained firefighters and on investment in the fire service.

Senator Maria Byrne - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the available supports for student nurses and midwives.

Senator Lynn Boylan - The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to make a statement on the recommendation of the Climate Change Advisory Council to amend, if necessary, the Gas Act in line with national policy on islanded data centres.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion. I have selected Senators Robbie Gallagher, Fintan Warfield, John Cummins and Paul Daly and they will be taken now.

The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
