Vol. 298 No. 3

Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:Senator Erin McGreehan - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on the delivery of financial and other supports to north Louth farming families for damage caused by the flooding in October 2023.

Senator Fintan Warfield - The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to make a statement on the establishment of a digital legal deposit for Irish web archiving.

Senator Marie Sherlock - The need for the Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications to make a statement on the provision of one-stop-shop services for apartment complexes in order to access energy upgrade grants.Senator Rónán Mullen - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on the public consultation on the use of remotely controlled electronic shock collars for dogs and cats.Senator Victor Boyhan - The need for the Minister for Rural and Community Development to make a statement on the distribution of the community recognition fund, its purpose and its allocation on a county-by-county basis. Senator Sharon Keogan - The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on the introduction of the bypass project for Thurles into the National Development Plan 2021-2030 during the 2025 review of the plan.Senator Robbie Gallagher - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to make a statement on respite services in the Monaghan and Cavan region and plans to maximise the existing services. The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and I have selected Senators McGreehan, Warfield, Sherlock and Mullen and they will be taken now. However, Senator Mullen has withdrawn his Commencement matter, which I had originally selected, due to issues pertaining to the storm yesterday and I have given him a commitment that it will be taken during the week. It was too late to include another Member in the allocation this morning. To be fair to Senator Mullen, the reason he cannot be here is because of the storm yesterday. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
