I move amendment No. 3:
In page 5, subsection (1), line 4, after "1993" to insert "and a reference to an Article of that Convention shall be construed as including a reference to the corresponding Article of the Lugano Convention".

In page 5, subsection (1), between lines 11 and 12, to insert the following definition:
"‘the Lugano Convention' has the meaning assigned to it by the Act of 1993;".

Amendments Nos. 5 and 6 are cognate and amendments Nos. 7 and 13 are related. It is proposed to take amendments Nos. 5, 6, 7 and 13 together by agreement.

In page 5, subsection (1), line 16, to delete "the Act of 1993), or any part of such a state," and substitute "the Acts of 1988 and 1993)".
These are drafting amendments. The reference to "part of a state" is not appropriate because only the contracting state will be designated. It is purely to bring the drafting in line.
