135 Mr. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the flooding which occurred on the Clontarf Road in 2004 as a result of a tidal incursion; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18818/05]
View answerI am aware that flooding occurred in Clontarf in 2004 as a result of the tidal conditions at the time. I understand that proposals for improved sea defences are included in the Dublin coastal flooding protection project report, which is being examined. Officials from the Office of Public Works have had preliminary discussions with officials from Dublin City Council about the matter. Further discussions, which will also involve the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, which is responsible for coastal flooding, are planned.
