Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Health the annual State spend on high-tech drugs for 2009, 2010, 2011 and that estimated for 2012; the savings delivered in respect of the cost of these medicines over each of the years outlined; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Health Service Executive is responsible for the administration of the community drugs schemes. The HSE has therefore been asked to examine this matter and to reply to the Deputy as soon as possible.
