View answerThe Community Nursing Unit infrastructure programme must be considered within the overall capital budget available to the health service and there is limited funding available for new projects over the next multi-annual period 2015-2019 given the level of commitments already in place.
As the demand for capital investment far exceeds the funding available, the funding for the Services for Older People must focus on the upgrade and refurbishment of existing facilities to achieve HIQA compliance. The development of Connolly Hospital will be considered in that context
