View answerI can confirm that the matters highlighted in the correspondence referred to were brought to the attention of the Department in the past. At the time, it was noted that the matters had been raised with the specific bank mentioned, the Central Bank, GSOC, the European Ombudsman, and a variety of Courts both in Ireland and Europe and that one of those cases was against the Minister for Finance in 2004. It was also noted that any decisions that had been made were by independent bodies with the Minister for Finance having no role in adjudicating the validity of court orders.
