1954. Deputy Holly Cairns asked the Minister for Rural and Community Development if her Department and public bodies and agencies that operate under her remit facilitate internships by students engaged in full-time or part-time further and higher education courses; if so, the number of interns her Department and public bodies and agencies that operate under her remit accept annually; if any or all of these interns receive remuneration of any kind; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Rural and Community Development was established on 19th July 2017 to provide a renewed and consolidated focus on rural and community development in Ireland.

I can confirm that neither my Department or the agencies under its remit currently facilitate internships by students engaged in full-time or part-time further and higher education courses.
