217. Deputy Cathal Crowe asked the Minister for Transport when a company (details supplied) will resume the operation of its battery-powered ebikes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11560/23]
View answerAs Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to cycling and public transport infrastructure; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of the management of public bike schemes. Details regarding operation of existing and proposed bike schemes fall under the remit of the National Transport Authority (NTA) working in conjunction with the relevant local authorities.
Noting the NTA's responsibilities in the matter, I have referred this question to the NTA for a more detailed reply. If the Deputy does not receive a reply within 10 working days, he should contact my private office.
