Officials in my Department have contacted CORU to ascertain the position specifically in relation to this particular case. CORU have advised that the Physiotherapist Registration Board decided that the applicant was required to undertake a compensation measure based on the information that was provided to it in the complete application that was submitted. In this instance, the applicant has the option to complete a period of adaptation or an aptitude test. The applicant was also given the option to appeal the decision of the registration board if they felt they had the required experience but did not demonstrate this in their application. Please note that an appeal is time sensitive - 30 days from the board decision.

CORU have also indicated that they are in negotiation with providers to develop supports for applicants in undertaking adaptation periods but this initiative is in the early stages. CORU have had a number of applicants who have sourced the required the adaptation periods and have been successfully recognized upon completion of same.
