Deputy Carol Nolan asked the Minister for Education the extent to which the State Examinations Commission is permitted to hire individuals who are not working as or qualified as teachers to correct the State exams; if there is scope to extend the ability of the commission to engage additional suitable persons in 2023; the number of such persons who have been engaged to correct the exams in each of the years from 2019 to date as a proportion of the total number of examiners; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
