442. Deputy Mattie McGrath asked the Minister for Education the status of an additional accommodation application for a school (details supplied) in Tipperary; when it will progress to planning stage; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [36042/23]
View answerThe project to which the Deputy refers was approved funding under my Department's Additional School Accommodation scheme for the provision of five general classrooms, one music room, one science laboratory, and a science preparation area.
The project is devolved for delivery to the school authority which has submitted a stage 1 architectural design report which is current being reviewed by my Department's Professional & Technical staff. This review is nearing completion and a decision will issue to the school authority shortly. My officials will continue to work closely with the school authority thereafter in order to ensure this important project progresses as quickly as possible.
